ABOUT
I have a section on the website that covers this topic extensively and you can find out more by going to:
When going on holiday or visiting Countries and islands, if you like beer, you will quickly become familiar with that Country or island's national brewer such as; Mythos from Greece, Efes from Turkey or Super Bock from Portugal.
Here in Mauritius it is no different as the longest established brewer on the island is the Phoenix brewery which has been producing beer for the local Mauritian market since 1963 and is part of an estimated total annual production of 39,000,000 litres of beer for both onshore and export markets.
Since I arrived 6 years ago craft brewing and its beers have come very popular with new brews and brands penetrating the market. I feel lucky to be on such a small island and have such an incredible selection of craft beers to enjoy.
As I noted earlier, you can find out a lot more about Mauritius Beer by clicking the link above.
Cheers

HOTEL
LUX LE MORNE
The Lux at Le Morne is relatively local to where I live and we try to book out weekends away on the island as often as we can within our budget and time constraints. The intention has always been to experience as much of the island as possible and take mini holidays/breaks for ourselves. This became even more important during COVID, where our thinking was "we live in paradise, so why not take a break in paradise!".
The Lux is located on one of the most beautiful spots/beaches on the island and surrounded by so many things to do and places to go. The beach is our favourite on the island ( please visit our 'Top 10 Beaches' page to see more options and I'll be down there at least once a month.
The Lux has been recently fully refurbished and I look forward to visiting it again where I'll update the review by for now all I can tell you is that I have always enjoyed the Lux Hotel Le Morne, whether it be for a day visit or overnight stay, I personally don't think you will be disappointed.

FALVOURS
BAR RESTO
I first came across Flavours Resto Bar when it was known as “Kozy Garden” and subsequently became “Hidden Garden”. Flavours Resto Bar sits inside the courtyard of a very small shopping center called Tutti Fruiti located on Royal Road in Tamarin.
Looking at the building from the roadside, you wouldn’t imagine that a bar and restaurant would be inside, and to my mind, has always been one of the area’s hidden little gems.
The bar is a kiosk in style and has barstool seating around three sides. Behind the bar is a central island displaying an extensive range of spirits with a selection of unusual rums to try.
The food is of very good quality and presented well. Flavours have earned a very good reputation locally for its food and especially its sushi.
