ABOUT
Snorkeling is everywhere in Mauritius, off every beach, and off most leisure boats. The warm and crystal clear waters of the Mauritius coastline make it a perfect place to spend snorkeling with friends and family.
Surrounded by over 100 miles of coral reef snorkelers can discover the underwater world containing coral gardens, reef fish, rays, and sea turtles.
Although you can snorkel pretty much anywhere along the coast of the island, the condition of the corals varies notably, however, there still are a number of spots perfect for snorkeling.
The Blue Bay Marine Park, near Mahébourg, is considered the best snorkeling spot in Mauritius because of its diverse coral and sea life including sea turtles.
While snorkeling in the lagoons of Mauritius you can spot a wide variety of reef fish, such as angelfish (especially the superb emperor angelfish, butterflyfish, sergeants majors, surgeonfish, triggerfish, and parrotfish and home to over 400 species of tropical fish, many of which are very easy to see.

RESTAURANT
THE BAY HOTEL
I have eaten at The Bay many, many times will always be going back for more. For me personally, it’s convenient but most importantly for its location and setting.
The Bay Hotel is located on the beachfront in Tamarin and its sunsets are famous. I have so many photos on my phone taken from the elevated terrace of the sun cutting through the horizon.
“Must stop daydreaming” back to the restaurant! Tables are laid out in the shade beneath a thatched gazebo area or canvas awnings. The food is well presented and of very good quality.
You can’t be in a rush when you eat here, not because the service is slow, but because it’s so relaxing and to rush spending time here is simply criminal!
