The Anahita golf club's spectacular golf course, with many of the holes hugging the water’s edge of the largest lagoon in Mauritius, was opened in 2008 and built to USGA standards. The golf course is challenging for all golfers and six different tee-off options give every player the opportunity to appreciate the intricacies of this golfing masterpiece. Don’t forget your camera; the course presents many opportunities to capture your special memories.
One of South African's favourite golfing sons, multiple champions, Ernie Els, was intrigued and excited when he visited the site for the first time. It was a pioneering adventure through the thick bush which populated this part of the island. Ernie’s designs always incorporate wide fairways, well-bunkered greens, and a host of teeing options, all ensuring a fun but challenging experience.

BUBBLE LODGE, ILE AUX CERFS
I stayed at the bubble lodge for my birthday in 2020 during the COVID lockdown which as it turned out made it even more special.
We were greeted on the East Coast of the island and taken by boat across to Ile Aux Cerfs where we were introduced to our private butler who would be looking after us during our stay. From there we were driven by golf cart to the reception area which is the Ile Aux Cerfs golf course clubhouse and finally taken down to our bubble lodge on the beach.
Staying in a bubble lodge had been an ambition of mine for a number of years and I wasn't disappointed. It is truly magical sleeping under the stars and even better in the safety (away from mosquitos!) of your bubble that provides all the creature comforts you would expect in and good quality hotel.
We enjoyed a meal on the beach at the beach bar where the staff had lit small fires lining the water's edge. What made our stay even more special was on the first evening we were amongst eight other guests on the island but the following evening, on my birthday night, we had the whole island to ourselves and as the staff, all take the boat back home leaving just the two of us plus a security guard. Very Robinson Crusoe!

No, I have no relative or financial gain from promoting the Rhumerie de Chamarel, just the pleasure of supporting a business and its staff that have provided me with many happy moments in my life.
Of all the places and activities listed on this website, I have visited the Rhumerie de Chamarel more than any other and am fast approaching 30 visits. Not only that I have taken more friends and family to experience this wonderful place and they ask when they are going back again!
The food is good and the service is excellent. The restaurant has both indoor and outside seating so you are covered just in case of rain.
If you like a lazy lunch with your partner, family, and/or friends where you are treated well and everything is as it should be then in my humble opinion the Rhumerie de Chamarel provides the perfect spot.
