With waterfalls serving as a hiking or trip goal, you know where you're going, roughly how much time to budget, and we’d ultimately wind up with a sense of accomplishment while getting all the other benefits of spending quality time in Nature (e.g. exercise, quality time, rejuvenation, precious memories, etc.).
Visiting a waterfall is a very special experience and Mauritius has many beautiful waterfalls so take the time to at least visit one.

SHANTI MAURICE RESORT & SPS
We’ve stayed at the Shanti Hotel at Saint Felix several times and on each visit, we have come away wanting to return.
Shanti Spa
Each time we’ve stayed at the Shanti Maurice we have treated ourselves to time at the Shanti Spa. First, soaking in a warm bubbling jacuzzi and then indulging in one of the spa massages which always leaves me wanting to come back again.
Rum Shed
I’ve spoken about that Rum Shed in the Top 10 Bars in Mauritius section of this website but needless to say whenever we visit the Shanti Maurice we make sure we book an evening at the Rum Shed. Its shabby chic driftwood style makes it the perfect place to unwind whilst enjoying great food and exotic cocktails. The bar itself boasts 200 different types of Rum from all over the world and many as limited editions, what’s not to like!

One of the Shanti Maurice greatest assets is its staff. From the first time we arrived at the Shanti Maurice, we were welcomed by every one of the staff team and on our following visits, we were recognised almost as old friends rather than paying guests.

No, I have no relative or financial gain from promoting the Rhumerie de Chamarel, just the pleasure of supporting a business and its staff that have provided me with many happy moments in my life.
Of all the places and activities listed on this website, I have visited the Rhumerie de Chamarel more than any other and am fast approaching 30 visits. Not only that I have taken more friends and family to experience this wonderful place and they ask when they are going back again!
The food is good and the service is excellent. The restaurant has both indoor and outside seating so you are covered just in case of rain.
If you like a lazy lunch with your partner, family, and/or friends where you are treated well and everything is as it should be then in my humble opinion the Rhumerie de Chamarel provides the perfect spot.
