Yes, it does. Your spouse and children (younger than 24 years) are eligible for an RP. Your unmarried partner will get a residence permit, instead. This needs to be renewed annually. A PRP is valid for ten years. What happens after that? You can apply for another 10-year permit providing you meet the required criteria. When can I start purchasing immovable property in Mauritius? If you currently hold an RP and earn more than MUR 100,200 per month, you can purchase an apartment for residential purposes. The apartment should belong to a block of residential units in a building that exceeds two stories, excluding the ground floor. How does the Board of Investment keep a tab on whether individuals are continually following the strict criteria required for a PRP in Mauritius? Holders of PRPs, excluding retired expats, are required to file an annual tax return with the Mauritius Revenue Authority. In addition to this, all employers must register their employees with the tax office. This allows the authorities to check whether an individual’s annual returns meet their criteria. To maintain accuracy, audited company accounts, and payslips may also be requested. The Board of Investment collaborates with the Tracking Team of the Passport and Immigration Office to carry out frequent joint inspections. Retired expats will be asked for an authentic certificate from their bank to prove that the required funds are being transferred to their Mauritian bank account every year, in line with the PRP regulations. • MAURITIUS REAL ESTATE

MAURITIUS REAL ESTATE by Karen My Blog < Back What Made Me Become A Mauritius Real Estate Agent? Sunday, August 28, 2022 Author: Karen Thornalley my blog mauritius now Although I have been working in and with the real estate sector now for over 13 years my background is not from this industry. My 30+ year career was in hairdressing where I worked my way up from a Saturday girl in a small UK salon to an owner of a small chain of award-winning salons. My focus as a salon owner was to train my (over 40) stylists and staff to the highest levels possible in both technical skills and customer care for which I was rewarded by receiving industry-recognised awards and loyal clients. Image: real estate mauritius What to look for in a Mauritian Real Estate Agent? Having sold my businesses and moved overseas, when I first arrived in Mauritius with my husband I came intending to not work, (or a least for a while any, as I am a person who always wants to keep busy!). We first rented a property on the Island having met a girl that worked for an agency. This was my best experience working with agents and funnily enough, the same girl works as part of my team now. The property we first moved into was beachfront and had been recently renovated we were told. However that wasn't the case, it was evident within only a few months we had made a mistake and needed help. That's when I began to discover what levels of customer care in real estate exist in Mauritius. This education continued when we looked for our second property and at that point, I realised that "if this is what customer care is" then I was going to do it myself! house for rent in mauritius Image: beach house mauritius Property to rent in Mauritius If you have been looking for a property to rent or even buy you will have no doubt come across the issue of enquiring about a property to be told that "this one is no longer available, but we do have". This is, in many cases, agents leaving a property on their system that they know will bring in calls and inquiries. Even worse, you may have turned up for viewing to a property you picked out only to be told on the day "the one you enquired about is gone, but we do have these to view". villa in mauritius Image: housing in mauritius Best properties in Mauritius, best agents in Mauritius As I said earlier, I pride myself on customer care and insist it is a priority with all of my team. My greatest asset is my happy clients and I have many now that come to me all as renters, buyers, and owners. My customers are my best marketing. If you are looking for an agent that does care and that will always go the extra mile I'm here for you. Lux Belle Mare Resort and Villas ML Star Rating N/A ML Top 10 Position 48 ML Hotel Ranking GO TO PAGE N/A ML Review Score GO TO PAGE < Back Lux Belle Mare Resort and Villas Official Star Rating ML Star Rating There are many hotels around Mauritius and I will try and get around as many as I can to review them for you. I want as close to perfection as possible and I don't see anything wrong with that. I haven't stayed at this hotel to date and as soon as I do I will update the site. The current Mauritius Life ranking (ML) is so high as it depicts the lowest available score due to the fact it has not been ranked to date and is the same for all hotels that have not been visited by ML. I do go to stay at a hotel for enjoyment and not just to review and complain. I've visited many hotels over the years all over the world and eaten is some of the best restaurants in the world. I love fine dining and have many Michelin star restaurants I want to try that are scattered around the world on my bucket list. I know what 5-star is and what you should expect when staying at such highly rated accommodation. I want things to be the way they should be for me and others and here I am not looking for fault, I am looking for the good things and to report them to you so you can go and enjoy them in the hope that when you experience the same you will tell your friends and family how wonderful your stay was at that hotel and how fantastic Mauritius is. If I can prevent people from disappointment or wasting money then I will have done some good or if I can get hotels to up their game by stating the obvious then great. luxbellemare@luxresorts.com email: call: 230 402 2000 region: east all inclusive: yes adults only: no reviewed: no rates: 7558 - 18390 MUR REVIEW WEBSITE MAP VIDEO REVIEW Previous Next lux belle mare mauritius image: Lux Belle Mare Villas mauritius lux belle mare image: Lux Belle Mare Villas lux belle mare mauritius image: Lux Belle Mare Reception SUBSCRIBE mauritius-life writes to its friends every few weeks with updates and news JOIN US Your content has been submitted An error occurred.
