Dolphin Watching at Tamarin Bay
Early morning boat trips from Tamarin Bay to swim with wild spinner dolphins in their natural habitat — the most…
The Zip World circuit at Casela Nature Parks is the most thrilling zip-line experience in the Indian Ocean. Eight lines are strung across the gorge landscape above Black River, with the longest run stretching over 400 metres and reaching speeds of 70 km/h as you cross the ravine 80 metres above the gorge floor.
The circuit begins on the plateau at the edge of the Black River Gorges escarpment and descends progressively through eight stages, each offering different perspectives on the gorge landscape and the coast beyond. The longest and highest lines are in the middle of the circuit; by the end your hands have stopped shaking and the final run across an open valley feels almost relaxed.
Full safety briefing, harness fitting, and helmet are provided before departure. The circuit is managed by qualified guides who handle all clipping and unclipping and check equipment before each run. Minimum weight is 40kg, maximum 130kg. No previous experience needed — the technique required is limited to keeping your arms out for balance and looking forward. Most people find the first run scary and the subsequent seven progressively more enjoyable.
The activity takes approximately 2 hours including briefing and transfers between platforms. Combine with the Casela lion encounter or safari buggy tour for a full day. The park has a restaurant and café for post-adrenalin lunch. Advance booking is essential; the Zip World fills up quickly on weekends and in peak season.
