Le Morne is rated one of the world's top five kitesurfing destinations, with a perfectly flat lagoon, side-shore trade winds of 15–25 knots, and the UNESCO-listed mountain as a backdrop. The ION CLUB at Club Med Le Morne is the most established kitesurf school on the peninsula, offering IKO-certified instruction from beginner to advanced, plus equipment rental for those who bring their own. The famous "One Eye" wave break at the reef pass attracts advanced wave riders from around the world during the austral summer. The flat lagoon inside the reef is ideal for beginners and foilers.
