Respect Water Sports is a water sports operator based in the north of Mauritius, offering a range of activities on the lagoon waters of Mauritius.
Mauritius is one of the world's premier watersports destinations. The island's fringing coral reef — one of the largest in the Indian Ocean — creates sheltered lagoons of extraordinary clarity and warmth, ideal for a wide range of water-based activities. Water temperatures sit between 24°C and 29°C year-round, and the reliable south-east trade winds (May–October) create excellent sailing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing conditions.
Activities typically available on the Mauritian lagoon include parasailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, banana boat rides, pedalo hire, glass-bottom kayaks, stand-up paddleboarding, and jet skiing. Most operators work from beach bases adjacent to hotels or from public beach access points.
The best conditions for most water sports are in the morning — trade winds are usually lighter before noon, and visibility in the water is at its best. Afternoon conditions can become choppy on the more exposed coasts. The west coast lagoon (Flic en Flac to Le Morne) is the calmest for family watersports year-round. The east coast, though more exposed, offers better wind for kitesurfing and windsurfing.
All licensed water sports operators in Mauritius are required to provide life jackets and safety briefings. Lookout boats should always be on the water. When booking, confirm the operator is licensed by the Mauritius Tourism Authority.
