Temperature
Daytime temperatures average 22–25°C on the coast and in low-lying areas. The central plateau (Curepipe, Moka) is cooler, often 17–20°C during the day and dropping to 14–15°C at night. Evenings on the coast can feel cool enough for a light jacket, particularly if you are sitting outdoors near the sea. The sea temperature drops to around 23–24°C — still pleasant for swimming.
Rainfall
July is one of the driest months of the year. Rain is infrequent and when it comes, it is typically a brief morning shower that clears quickly. The east coast and central highlands receive more rain than the west and north even in winter, but nothing that significantly disrupts outdoor plans.
Wind
The south-east trade winds are at their strongest in July, making conditions excellent for kite-surfing on the east coast (particularly Le Morne and Anse la Raie).
