Sunset Cruise Mauritius
A 3-hour evening catamaran or dhow cruise along the west coast as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean, with cocktails,…
Île aux Cerfs is the most photographed beach in Mauritius and the speedboat transfer from Trou d'Eau Douce on the east coast is the standard way to get there. The crossing takes just 5–8 minutes and arrives directly on the island's main beach — a wide arc of fine white sand facing the turquoise lagoon.
The speedboat operators at Trou d'Eau Douce run a continuous shuttle service throughout the day from around 8am. There's no need to book in advance for the transfer alone — simply arrive at the jetty, pay the return fare, and the next boat departs within minutes. Day trips that include snorkelling, water sports, or lunch on the island can be booked in advance and offer slightly better pricing.
The water around Île aux Cerfs is among the best snorkelling in the east lagoon. The reef structure off the island's northern tip has good coral cover and high fish diversity; sea turtles are regularly spotted in the seagrass at the lagoon's edge. Snorkel equipment is available for hire on the island.
Water sports on the island include jet skiing, parasailing, banana boat rides, and kayaking — all operated by independent vendors on the beach. Pricing is negotiable and bundled packages (two or three activities) offer better value than booking individually. The island has two restaurants serving lunch; the Constance hotel's beach restaurant is the most comfortable option. Return transfers run until 5pm. Go early — the island is busiest between 11am and 2pm.
