Anahita Golf Club Mauritius

Anahita Golf Club is the prestige east coast course — an 18-hole Ernie Els design built as part of the Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita, set within the vast Beau Champ estate on the east coast lagoon. Ernie Els is known for designing courses that are simultaneously beautiful and technically demanding, and Anahita delivers both.

The course plays through the resort's private island landscape — the east coast lagoon penetrates the estate, creating a series of peninsulas and water features that come into play on multiple holes. Several holes play along the lagoon edge, and the signature 16th requires a carry over water with the open sea beyond. The course is walkable but hilly — the terrain undulates significantly more than the east coast landscape suggests from sea level.

Ernie Els designed the course for resort golfers rather than low-handicap specialists — there are multiple tee positions and the generous fairways reward strategic play without punishing the mid-handicapper excessively. The greens are medium-paced and the bunkers are well-sited rather than numerous. The challenge comes from course management: knowing when to lay up, when to attack, and how the wind off the lagoon will affect trajectory.

The club welcomes non-resort guests by advance reservation only. Green fees include a caddy — caddies are not optional here, which reflects how seriously the course management takes the complete guest experience. The 19th hole clubhouse is exceptional, with views across the 18th green to the inner lagoon. The course finishes each day at dusk with a concierge who meets golfers off the last green. This is golf as a luxury experience rather than just a sport.
