The Paradis Golf Club at the iconic Beachcomber resort is a 27-hole course on Le Morne peninsula — the only golf course…

Tamarina Golf Club occupies one of the most scenically dramatic golf settings in Mauritius — a west coast course that runs along the Tamarin valley with the Black River Mountains rising on one side and the Indian Ocean shimmering on the other. Designed by Rodney Wright and opened in 2005, it is one of the island's more challenging and visually spectacular courses.
The course plays 6,285 metres from the back tees (par 72) through a landscape of natural ravines, mature trees, and the Tamarin River that comes into play on several holes. The par-3 12th hole, played across a ravine to a green perched above the gorge, is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and demanding short holes in the Indian Ocean.
The natural terrain gives the course variety that flat resort courses lack. Elevation changes of up to 40 metres between tee and green on some holes create interesting club selection challenges, and the wind patterns change significantly from the valley floor to the exposed ridge sections. Local knowledge — from a caddy who knows the course well — is more valuable here than on most other Mauritius courses.
Tamarina is linked to the Tamarina Golf Estate residential development and offers a private members club atmosphere alongside guest access. The clubhouse has excellent food and views over the last three holes to the Black River valley. The course is walkable (and walking is recommended for the full experience) but carts are available. Sunset rounds from the late afternoon slot offer extraordinary light on the mountains. Advance tee time booking is essential.
